The French men’s volleyball national team has proven that success in winning a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is not a mere coincidence.
Until a year later, Le Blues managed to maintain its consistency in the world volleyball competition map. Even when they changed coaches.
Currently, they are no longer under the coaching duo who brought France to hold the gold in Tokyo 2020, Bernardo Rezende and Laurent Tilie.
Appearing in the Volleyball National League (VNL) 2022, the French captain is held by Andrea Gani, an Italian coach who has coached Germany and Slovenia.
He managed to maintain the performance of France, while making a bold move by replacing the senior setter who is also the team captain, Benjamin Toinutti.
France, when handled by Andrea Gani, relied on a younger setter, Antoine Brizard. As a result, this team remained strong and came out as VNL 2022 champion.
In addition to the 2022 VNL champions, the French players also dominate the individual awards. Earvin Ngapeth who is the best player of Tokyo 2020, came out as MVP.
Here is the list of men’s VNL 2022 individual awards:
